You don't have to just be sick to benefit from seeing a naturopath. The true art of healing and health is to change our living habits to a state where we are more aware of our natural biorhythms, so we can prevent disease, instead of continually having to rebuild a sick body.

Every illness has an underlying cause or causes, often in aspects of lifestyle, diet or habits of an individual. A naturopath is trained to find and remove the underlying causes of disease and use the appropriate therapy to remove them in the correct healing order for the body.

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct system of health-orientated medicine. In contrast to the current disease centred approach of western medicine, naturopathy stresses the promotion of health as a means of treatment and prevention of disease.

Naturopaths use the healing power of nature to assist the body's own ability to heal itself.

Naturopaths use methods and medicinal substances that minimise the risk of harmful effects and apply the least possible intervention necessary, to diagnose illness and restore health. When possible the suppression of symptoms is avoided because suppression generally interferes with the healing process.

Health and disease comes from a complex interaction of mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, dietary, genetic, environmental, lifestyle and other factors. Naturopaths can treat the whole person by taking all these principles into account.

The naturopathic approach to health care helps prevent disease and keeps minor diseases from developing onto more serious ones. Naturopaths believe that it is in the patient's best interest to be educated about healthy living practices so that the patient can optimize their own health potential.

In my clinical practice I use nutrition therapy, herbal medicine, homoeopathy and flower essences, or a combination of these, for health enhancement protocols and the treatment both minor and serious illnesses.

Naturopathic medicine can help you to improve your personal level of health and fitness regardless of what it is now. This goal is definitely attainable, whether you are suffering from a long term medically diagnosed chronic illness, you feel a little flat and run down, or you just want to improve yourself.
