CLASS LEVELS

Beginners
This is a class for anyone new to yoga, no matter what age or fitness level. The class builds a solid foundation in a safe and friendly environment. There is strong focus on the preparation of poses, sometimes with the use of props. Simple breathing exercises are also introduced and an introduction to meditation. This class is also great for those returning to yoga after a break or for those seeking a gentle class.

All Level
Whether you are a beginner or a well seasoned practitioner this class aims to give you an opportunity to build and develop your practice and understanding of yoga. A layered class to suit all levels.

Ashtanga yoga
This method of Hatha Yoga involves synchronising the movement of the body with a breathing technique known as Ujjayi Breath (breathing with sound) and the use of internal locks or Bandhas while the student moves dynamically through a series of postures or asanas.  The combination of the breathing, bandhas and asana ignites an internal heat necessary for the purification of internal organs and the nervous system.  This method of dynamic or vinyasa yoga cleanses the body internally.

Not for the faint-hearted - an athletic and dynamic practice.

Restorative Yoga
These classes are held on the last Wednesday 10am and Friday 6pm classes of the month.

The postures practised in this class are all supported in some way with props (bolsters, blankets, etc) where they gently open and stretch the body in different ways. The poses are held longer than in normal classes, but because they are supported in some way, the student is then able to begin to "feel" an inner connection without having to physically challenge the body to stay in the posture. In our normal classes we are generally looking at the form of the pose from the outside in, however with Restorative Yoga we look and feel from the inside out.

These classes are highly recommended for regular students to balance their practice and for those suffering anxiety and stress or you just would like a gentle relaxing class.

Pre-Natal
Recommended for students AFTER the first trimester (13 weeks).

The class is small, and individual instruction is given.

Learn to connect with your baby and to accept and feel at ease with your changing body shape.

Students are at different stages of pregnancy so for new Mum's to-be there is a chance to interact with other Mum's to be.

Focus of this class is on relaxing, breathing, stretching and strengthening.

Pelvic floor exercises are also practised.

The asanas (or exercises) can help relieve morning sickness, fluid retention, high blood pressure and backache - and at the same time build strength in the muscles and add mobility to the joints.

There is strong emphasis on restorative (supported relaxing) poses further into the pregnancy.

It is a good idea to check with your healthcare professional before commencing this class, especially if you have had complications with your pregnancy.

Power Flow
Power yoga is a unique system of yoga, which delivers a challenging physical workout. It combines sun salutation with standing postures, forward bends, backward bends and twists for a complete yogic workout increasing the strength of body and mind, harmonizing and bringing out the power we hold within. If you are not a beginner and are looking forward to improve strength and Vinyasa movements you will enjoy this class
