Vinyasa Yoga

VINYASA is a yoga method used by many different styles of yoga including Ashtanga, Anusura, Iyengar, Power Yoga and Viniyoga.

VINYASA translated from Sanskrit means "flow"; and it refers to both the flow of the breath and the movement of the body in a continuous linking of postures.

The breath initiates the movement of the postures and allows the "prana" or vital energy which is our life force, to flow evenly through the whole body.

By maintaining a focus on linking the postures and the breath, the senses are drawn inward, creating an internal intelligence and deepening awareness of your mental or "feeling" self.

So although VINYASA yoga is a physical practice, it is also a meditative practice. The reward of the practice is a feeling of peace, calm and wellbeing.

It is recommended that you have attended at least 6 months Hatha Yoga and are aware of the alignment of the Asanas before commencing this class. If you are a complete beginner and are not aware of the alignment for each posture, the possibility of injury may occur.
